Meaning:- Galium (Gr) Milk.
                  Rotundifolium (L) Having rounded leaves

General description:- Gregarious perennial with a slender, creeping rhizome.

Stolons:-
1) Slender, creeping, mostly rooting.

Stems:-
1) Up to 20(-35) cm, slender, glabrous, or rarely with short, scattered hairs.

Leaves:-
1) 14-18 x 6-10(-12) mm, ovate to suborbicular, subacute, shortly petiolate,
    delicate, more or less glabrescent.

Flower:-
1) Inflorescence, corymbose, rather few-flowered.
2) Pedicels, (2-)5-15 mm.
3) Bracts, few. 
4) Corolla, 3-3·5(-4) mm diam, rotate.

Fruit:-
1) Mericarps, c. 2 mm, with patent, hooked hairs.

Key features:-
1) Stipules, and true leaves similar.
2) Corolla, rotate.
3) Stems, c. 20 cm, usually glabrous.
4) Inflorescence, corymbose.

Habitat:- Seasonally damp, shady habitats in woodland of Abies, castanea, Fagus
or Platanus. (100-)400-1400 m.

Distribution:- Mainland Greece, Peloponnisos & Kefallinia. - Europe 7 Nw Africa,
northwards to the Baltic, eastwards to N Iran. Rare on Crete known from a few
location in western and central Crete.

Flowering time:- Late Apr to July.
